Each year, our executive choose 2-4 fundraisers. All members are encouraged to work or donate to them. |
The members are selected to play on a team. This year each team has 2 club members.
The teams play every Thursday evening, for 6 weeks (for this season). Playoffs are played the next 2 to 3 weeks, to determine an overall club champion. This is an excellent opportunity to make it a "FAMILY SPORT". |
During the summer, members participate in two types of tournaments. Club tournaments:-These jitney style tournaments are played at our own club and played against our own members. Club trophies are awarded to whoever wins these tournaments. Members sign up on the blackboard on the front side of the bowls room or call the assigned "Drawmaster" by 5:00 pm. Most of these tournaments are a drawn pairs format. These are very social events for our members. District tournaments:- Members picks partners and sign up on the tournament sheets on the big black board on the north wall of club house. This is an opportunity to play against out of town bowlers. All tournaments are fun, very socialable, a chance to meet people, and can be as competitive as you make it. |
Jitneys are an excellent opportunity to enjoy the fellowship of other members of our own club, as well bowlers from other bowling clubs in our district. New this year are the Monday and Wednesday night jitneys. This is an opportunity to try lawn bowling in very relaxed social atmosphere.
The "Intraclub jitney" is an opportunity to meet other bowlers from Hanover and Walkerton. After bowling, everyone enjoys the snacks and the social time. (Not this year) |
This is another aspect of lawn bowling. If you wish to participate in competition, you can bowl competitively at the District, the Provincial, and the National level.
